The Checklist of the Organized Traveler

Do you also always feel you’ve forgotten something after packing your bags to go on a trip? Here’s the perfect checklist that will help you get organized, pack your luggage efficiently and feel confident.


The papers (essential!)

  • ID card
  • Passport
  • Flight tickets (paper or digital)
  • Accommodation confirmations
  • Driver’s license
  • Travel insurance
  • Health Insurance Card
  • Vaccination and blood type certificate
  • Medical Certificate for sports (diving, paragliding …)
  • Emergency numbers

The means of payment (the part that hurts the most…)

  • International payment card
  • Cash
  • Local currency
  • Contact your bank if needed

An emergency kit (to avoid a visit to the emergency room!)

  • Wound dressings (small and medium injuries, blisters), compresses, tape, tissue, cotton etc.
  • Tweezers
  • Anti-bacterial gel, disinfectant spray, healing ointment, saline solution,  etc.
  • Sunscreen and anti-burn ointment
  • Antihistamine in case of allergy
  • Medications: anti-diarrheal, anti-constipation, anti-motion sickness, intestinal antiseptic, anti-acid reflux, paracetamol, aspirin, a general antibiotic, throat lozenges etc.
  • Cortisone cream for insect bites and repellent
  • Multi purpose products: arnica cream (bruises, bumps, muscle pain) and Tiger Balm
  • Sanitary protection

To sleep well (and to avoid hearing your neighbor snoring)

  • Duvet or silk sleeping bag liner
  • Inflatable pillow
  • Travel Pillow
  • Eye Mask
  • Earplugs
  • Travel Mosquito Net

Hygiene (yes, even at the other end of the world a minimum of hygiene will be appreciated) 

  • Foldable microfiber towels (also available for hair)
  • Toothbrush / toothpaste
  • Moisturizing cream
  • Misting spray
  • Cleaning wipes
  • Shower gel / shampoo – travel size
  • Hair brush / elastics
  • Deodorant

  • Replacement lenses / liquid / glasses if you need them

Clothes (unless you’ll be staying in a nudist resort)

  • Underwear and extra socks

  • Cardigan or light sweater

  • Jeans / shorts / dresses / skirts
  • Fancy outfit to go out
  • Sportswear
  • Large scarf (can be useful too when visiting temples !)

  • Flip-flops (to avoid walking barefoot at the hotel)
